5 - "Vouguinha"

A large part of this route, around 70 km, was made using the old train line – the famous Vouga Line.

However, a few years ago, the other part of this line, between Manchigata do Vouga and Aveiro, was reactivated and for that reason the historic train, which the population affectionately calls Vouguinha, returned to circulation.

With wonderful and carefully preserved carriages, dating from the beginning of the 20th century, pulled by a steam locomotive, the stop at Macinhata do Vouga is one of the highlights of this route.

Vouguinha is an authentic relic, seeing it circulate gives us the feeling of returning to the past, to the childhood times of our ancestors.

5 - Agenja

Agenja beckons with the promise of mouthwatering leitão (suckling pig). Immerse yourself in the local gastronomy, and let the flavors of this traditional dish linger on your palate.

Here you must visit Casa dos Leitões!

Day 2 - 25 Kms

6 - Riding Along Ria Aveiro

As you pedal closer to Aveiro, the landscape transforms, and you catch glimpses of the stunning Ria Aveiro. The estuary's unique ecosystem and the blend of saltwater and freshwater create a captivating scene, providing the perfect backdrop for the final stretch of your journey.

7 - Aveiro - Journey's End

Arrive in Aveiro, often referred to as the "Venice of Portugal," where canals wind through the city.

Take some time to explore Aveiro's colorful architecture, enjoy a relaxing boat ride along the canals, and reflect on the memories made during your bike tour.

This bike tour from Viseu to Aveiro promises not only a great adventure but also a sensory exploration of the rich culture, delicious cuisine, and natural beauty that define this region of Portugal.

Get ready to pedal through history, savor local flavors, and create unforgettable moments along the Linha do Vouga.

Dão Eco Track

Adjacent to this wonderful Eco Pista do Vouga, there is another Eco Pista - the famous Eco Pista do Dão.

There are around 50 km that connect Santa Comba Dão to Viseu.

We've also had the opportunity to ride it several times, it's very beautiful and if you do it you won't regret it, in that sense, if you think you have the cycling skills for it, you can consider doing both ecopistas on the same occasion.
