In March (19th and 20th) we’ll cycle in Serra da Estrela and in May (6th, 7th and 8th) we’ll do the Camino de Fátima from Lisbon.
The year has just begun, but we are already planning some events.
The first event will be two days of cycling in Serra da Estrela.
As we did in previous years, this year we are also going to ride again at the highest Portuguese points.
In these two days we’ll pass through the most emblematic places of this mountain, such as Torre, the three Cântaros (Magro, Grosso and Raso), we will see the Loriga Glacier Valley and explore the majestic Zêzere Glacier Valley.
The large lagoons of Serra da Estrela, Comprida Vale do Rossim and Viriato will also be visite.
The Poço do Inferno, the image of Our Lady of Shepherds, carved in the rock, the Nave de Santo António, the Miradouro dos Piornos, the Poço do Inferno and the Covão D’Ametade will also be points of obligatory passage.
A bike tour in this area wouldn’t be complete without tasting the local cuisine, so we’ll have time to taste the famous cheeses, sausages and typical dishes of this amazing region.
The second bike trip that is already scheduled is a 3-day tour between Lisbon and Fátima, famous famous “Caminhos de Fátima”.
This tour will start in Lisbon, on the morning of the 6th of May (Friday) and during these three days, among stunning landscapes and in an relax environment, we’ll cycle to the Sanctuary of Fátima.
The “Lezíria do Ribatejo” and the beautified landscapes with Tagus River water will be predominant in the first part of the route, in which we’ll pass through Alhandra, Vila Franca, Azambuja and Valada, among other places, where it is necessary to eat a traditional “bifana” (portuguese pork meat sandwich) , accompanied by bear along the Tagus bank coast.
The second part of this route, which begins with a short tour of the beautiful city of Santarém, Gothic Capital, will be dominated by a rural landscape, dominated by dozens of hills and valleys that at this time will be painted an intense green, before arriving at the Park Natural of Serra D'Aires, where we will visit the river beach of Olhos de Água.
For the end is reserved the crossing of Serra D'Aires and arrival at Fátima Sanctuary, which is always the highest point of our tour.
