Visiting Lisbon during a cruise stop is very different from spending two, three or more days in the city.
You only have a few hours.
Your ship arrives in the morning, there is a set time to be back on board and, between those two moments, you want to see, experience and enjoy as much of Lisbon as possible.
We understand that.
And that is precisely why a bike tour can be one of the best ways to discover Lisbon during a cruise stop.
In just a few hours, an electric bike allows you to comfortably explore a significant part of the city.
You can ride through historic neighbourhoods, reach beautiful viewpoints, discover Lisbon's main squares and monuments and, at the same time, experience its streets, its people and everyday life up close.
But there is another important advantage for those arriving by ship.
About a 10-minute walk from the Cruise Terminal

Our shop is located just a 10-minute walk from the Lisbon Cruise Terminal.
When you only have a few hours available, this proximity and convenience make a real difference.
Shortly after leaving the terminal, you can already be with us, cycling through the streets of Lisbon.
And at the end of the tour, it is just as easy: within a few minutes, you can be back at the cruise terminal.
When every hour counts, less time spent getting around means more time for you to enjoy Lisbon.
Why we recommend a private tour in these circumstances
Our regular group tours normally start at 10:00 am.
For someone spending several days in Lisbon, this is usually not a problem. But cruise passengers have a very different schedule.
Many prefer to start at around 9:00 am, shortly after disembarking, so they can make the most of every hour they have in the city.
That is one of the reasons why, in these circumstances, we often recommend a private tour.
Not because a private tour is necessarily better than one of our group tours, but because it is usually the option that best fits the time constraints of someone visiting Lisbon during a cruise stop.
We can start earlier, agree from the beginning on the time we need to be back and organise the entire experience around the time you have available.
But the advantages of a private tour go far beyond the starting time.
How much time do you have and what would you like to see?

Not every cruise passenger wants to spend their hours in Lisbon in the same way.
Some prefer a tour of just two hours, leaving plenty of free time afterwards for shopping, lunch or visiting a museum.
Others prefer to dedicate almost all their available time to discovering as much of the city as possible and choose a longer tour.
So, rather than trying to fit everyone into the same programme, we start with one very simple question:
How much time do you have and what would you like to see?
From there, we build the tour around you.
Around 2 hours — Lisbon City Centre
An excellent option if you want a first introduction to Lisbon without using up all the time you have available during your cruise stop.
By electric bike, we explore the historic heart of Lisbon, riding through Baixa and some of the city's oldest and most characteristic neighbourhoods, including Alfama, Graça and Mouraria.
Along the way, we discover some of Lisbon's main squares, streets and viewpoints while your guide shares stories about the city, its culture and the way we live here.
In around two hours, you can discover an important part of Lisbon's historic centre, climb some of its famous hills and still have several hours free before returning to your ship.
3 to 4 hours — 7 Hills or Belém
With three or four hours available, there are two very different possibilities.
The 7 Hills are ideal if you want to discover Lisbon's traditional neighbourhoods, its narrow streets, the city centre and some of the best viewpoints in Lisbon.
With the help of our electric bikes, we ride up and down the city's famous hills, exploring an older, traditional Lisbon full of character and personality.
If you prefer Belém, we head west along a flatter route close to the Tagus River.
Here we find some of Lisbon's most iconic monuments and places deeply connected to Portugal's maritime history.
They are two very different experiences.
One takes us into the hills, neighbourhoods and viewpoints.
The other follows the river towards the monumental district of Belém.
The choice simply depends on what you are most curious to discover.
Either option still leaves you with some free time before returning to your ship.
Around 6 hours — 7 Hills + Belém

If you want to dedicate almost all your available time to discovering Lisbon, we can combine both routes.
During the first part of the tour, we explore the historic centre, ride through some of Lisbon's most traditional neighbourhoods and reach some of the city's main viewpoints.
Then we head towards Belém, following the Tagus River and discovering a completely different side of Lisbon.
In a single day, you can experience two different faces of the city: the Lisbon of hills, old neighbourhoods and viewpoints, and the monumental Lisbon of Belém, open to the river.
But six hours does not mean six hours of non-stop cycling.
Quite the opposite.
Lisbon is also discovered when we stop

A private tour allows us to adapt not only the route, but also the pace.
If you want to explore a larger area of the city, we can keep a more dynamic pace, make fewer stops and use the electric bikes to cover more kilometres.
If you prefer to discover Lisbon more slowly, we do exactly the opposite.
We can stop at a viewpoint because the view deserves a few more minutes, take photographs, chat, have a coffee or simply spend some extra time in a place you particularly enjoy.
And Lisbon can also be discovered through its flavours.

If there is time and you feel like it, we can stop at a traditional restaurant, try a pastel de bacalhau, enjoy a pastel de nata, have a glass of wine or taste other Portuguese specialities.
Making the most of a few hours in Lisbon does not necessarily mean trying to see as many places as possible.
For some people, it means cycling further and discovering a larger part of the city.
For others, it means covering fewer kilometres but having time to stop, talk, taste something local and get a better feel for the way we live.
The route can change during the tour

There is another advantage to a private tour: we do not need to decide every detail before we start.
We can have an initial route planned and change it as we begin to understand what you are enjoying most.
Perhaps you arrive wanting to see the great monuments but end up fascinated by the narrow streets of Alfama.
Perhaps you discover that the viewpoints are what you enjoy most.
Or perhaps you simply want to keep cycling and explore a larger part of the city.
We can adapt the route.
We can adapt the stops.
And we can adapt the pace.
There is only one thing we cannot change: the time your ship departs.
That time will therefore always be part of our planning, leaving enough margin for you to return to the terminal comfortably and without rushing.
Because the most important thing is not to follow a fixed programme.
It is to make the most of the time you have, discover what interests you most about Lisbon and experience the city at your own pace.
What if you have 2 or 3 days in Lisbon?

Not every cruise passenger spends just a few hours in the city.
Some people arrive in Lisbon one or two days before their cruise begins. Others decide to stay after disembarking.
In that case, the possibilities are completely different. In addition to our tours in Lisbon, you can also discover some extraordinary places outside the city, such as Sintra, Cascais or the Arrábida Natural Park.
If that is your situation, we suggest reading “Lisbon in 2 or 3 Days: How to Make the Most of Your Visit”.
But if your ship is only in Lisbon for a few hours — and helping you make the most of those hours is precisely why we wrote this article — you only need to decide two things:
How much time do you have and what would you like to see?
We'll take care of the rest.
