Because a bike tour in Portugal is an excellent option for your holidays this year, at moment I’m cycling around the country to show you some Portuguese wonders.
I start my bike tour in one of my favorite places, Serra da Estrela, the highest Portuguese mountain.
At this time of the year (winter), painted white, due to snow and ice, the mountain is beautiful.
But you would be wrong if you think that Serra da Estrela is only worth a visit in winter. In other seasons, Spring, Summer and Autumn, with different colors, with other wildlife, with other attractions, this whole area continues to have enormous natural beauty.
Walking or cycling in the vastness, swimming and diving in the lagoons, rivers and river beaches are unforgettable experiences.
Because this area is still outside the traditional tourist circuits, there are no crowds of people, it’s very quiet and safe.
The people who live here like to receive and cook very well, so for all the activities you can add good and economical meals. Serra da Estrela is for this and for all that you’ll discover, a great place to enjoy nature and rest.
