Ready for Your Bike Tour?

You've booked a bike tour with us and we're very happy to welcome you!

We want you to make the most of your experience, so we've put together some useful information to help you prepare for your tour and answer some of the most common questions.

First of all, you should know that we're a small local company, specialized in bike tours and focused on creating great moments and unforgettable memories.

In the Lisbon area, we offer three different types of experiences:

  • Free Bike Tours — including our Belém Tour and Lisbon City Center Tour;
  • Iconic Lisbon Tours — featuring our famous 7 Hills Tour;
  • Around Lisbon — full-day experiences outside the city, such as Sintra–Cascais and Arrábida.

Below you'll find the essential information that applies to all our tours: how to get to the meeting point, what to bring, some important safety guidelines and what you can expect from us.

1- Practical Information

Meeting Point:

All our tours start at Rua dos Caminhos de Ferro, 62, Lisbon, very close to Santa Apolónia train and metro station.

Click here to find us on Google Maps.

How to Get Here:

The best way to reach us depends on where you're staying. If you're nearby, you can walk, take the metro (Blue Line) or use Uber/Bolt, which are very popular in Lisbon.

If you're driving, there is a paid car park very close to our shop — Santa Apolónia Car Park. (Google Maps link)

End of the Tour:

All our tours finish at the same place where they started.

Arrival Time:

We recommend arriving 10 to 15 minutes before the scheduled starting time.

This gives us enough time to check you in, introduce you to your guide, provide you with the right bike and give you your helmet.

Arriving a little earlier also gives you some extra time in case of traffic or public transport delays and helps us start the tour on time.

Tour Duration:

The duration indicated for each tour is approximate.

We always try to keep to the planned schedule, but factors such as the group's pace, weather conditions, events in the city or unexpected situations may affect the duration.

For this reason, we recommend not booking another activity immediately after the tour and leaving yourself some extra time.

2 - What Should You Bring, Besides a Good Mood?

You don't need any special equipment. A few simple things will help make your experience more comfortable:

Comfortable clothes — Choose clothing suitable for the season and the weather forecast on the day of your tour.

Suitable footwear — Wear comfortable and secure shoes for cycling. We recommend avoiding flip-flops or sandals.

Water — We recommend bringing a bottle of water, especially during the warmer months. There are places along our routes where you can refill it.

Sun protection — Particularly important during spring and summer.

Helmet — We provide this for you.

3 - What Bike Will I Use?

We want you to discover Lisbon and its surroundings in a safe, comfortable and enjoyable way. That's why, with the exception of the Belém Tour, which follows a flat route, that we do with classic bikes, all our tours are done on electric bikes.

On routes with hills and mountains, e-bikes make the climbs much easier, helping to make the experience more comfortable and accessible.

If you prefer or need one, you can also do the Belém Tour on an e-bike for an additional fee. Please let us know in advance so we can guarantee availability.

If you've never ridden an e-bike before, don't worry: before departure, your guide will explain everything you need to know and you'll have time at the beginning of the tour to get comfortable with the bike.

4 - Safety During the Tour

The safety of everyone taking part is our top priority.

Before we start, your guide will give a short safety briefing, explaining the basic cycling rules, how to use the bike and some important precautions to follow along the way.

Our tours are guided experiences and, for safety and organizational reasons, all participants must stay with the guide and the group throughout the entire route. It is not possible to leave the group, continue on your own or return with the bike by yourself.

During the tour, always follow your guide's instructions and keep a safe distance from the other bikes.

If you don't feel comfortable, experience any difficulty or simply feel that the pace is too fast, talk to your guide — they're there to help you.

Our tours are not a race or a marathon. They're experiences to be enjoyed at a relaxed pace, with several stops and plenty of time to make the most of the ride.

5 - What Else Should You Know About the Tour You Booked?

Lisbon Tours — City Center, Belém and 7 Hills

These experiences last just a few hours, start and finish at our shop and don't require any special preparation.

There are no stops planned for full meals, only short coffee breaks. If you like, you can bring a snack or sandwich to eat during the tour.

Full-Day Tours — Sintra–Cascais and Arrábida

As these are full-day experiences outside Lisbon, there are a few additional things you should know:

Transfers — These tours also start and finish at our shop, but include transfers for both participants and bikes between Lisbon and the places where we start and finish cycling.

For the Sintra–Cascais Tour, we travel by train, while for the Arrábida Tour, the transfer is by car.

Meals — In addition to one or two short stops for coffee and/or hydration, we'll take a longer break for lunch at a local restaurant.

Clothing — It's important to check the weather forecast for the tour location in advance. Both Sintra and Arrábida have their own particular conditions, and the weather can be different from what you find in Lisbon.

In summer, you can bring swimwear in case there's an opportunity for a swim, but we also recommend bringing a sweater or another warmer layer in case temperatures are cooler.

In winter, we recommend warmer clothing and, at the very least, a waterproof jacket.

Now All That's Left Is to Start Pedaling!

We hope this information helps you prepare for your tour and make the most of the time you'll spend with us.

And remember: our guides are locals, know Lisbon and Portugal very well and will be happy to share recommendations on places to visit, where to eat or other experiences worth discovering. Don't hesitate to ask questions during the tour — we're also here to help you make the most of your stay.
