This is my favorite tour, combining mountain, secret beaches, unbelievable landscapes, lot of castles, like Pena Place, Regaleira, Moorish, Seteais and the wonderful towns of Sintra and Cascais.
In this tour you have to climb some mountains, for that reason I advise you to do it with a good bike, or even with an electric bike. I also advise you to take this tour with a local guide, it will be easier to find the best spots, not to get lost and it will be safer.
If you are in Lisbon you should take your bicycle by train to Sintra (+/- 40 minutes) and start your bike tour only when you arrive at the town of Sintra. The road between Lisbon and Sintra is not advisable (dangerous) and is not beautiful.
Sintra is known as the Land of Fairy Tales. Visiting the Palácio da Regaleira, tasting a Queijada de Sintra at Casa da Sapa and a Travesseiro at Piriquita are things you must do.
